Program Title: BA/BS in Music

Describe the proposed degree program change(s) in terms of how the changes differ from the program as currently approved and published in the latest WOU catalog (specify the latest catalog date).
Add [MUS 331 Improvisation I] as a requirement for the BA/BS in Music.
This is the only course missing from the BA/BS core to make it consistent with the other degree tracks. It¿s a course in which students apply theoretical concepts to their instrument. It¿s commonly a required course in music programs nationwide.
Describe the reasons for making this change:
2011-2012 Catalog page 70: Add MUS 331 Improvisation I (2) in the Performance category, after MUS 320. This raises the total credits for the major to 72, so that also needs to change where it currently shows 70. See attached sheet.
