Program Title: Geography

Describe the proposed degree program change(s) in terms of how the changes differ from the program as currently approved and published in the latest WOU catalog (specify the latest catalog date).
The Geography Major requires GEOG 341 (Geographic Information Systems). We request that ES 341 (Fundamental of Geographic Information Systems) be permanently counted as an equivalent.
Rationale:
The courses are almost identical.
The Geography department and Earth Science department have an agreement to teach a GIS course every other year which serves both departments. This allows students from both departments to be able to take GIS in any given year. This agreement is essential due to the small number of faculty and resulting inability for one department to offer GIS every year.
We have substituted ES 341 for GEOG 341 for years, but would like to make it a permanent equivalent now.

Change is already in place via course sub forms. We want it to be a permanent sub so that students do not need to submit course sub forms.
