Program Change:
P01346
Program Title: Gerontology
Undergraduate
Describe the proposed degree program change(s) in terms of how the changes differ from the program as currently approved and published in the latest WOU catalog (specify the latest catalog date).
Add COMM 112 (Interpersonal Communication), GERO 120 (Medical Terminology), PSYCH 461 (Psychopharmacology). The addition of these courses as electives in the Gerontology major will allow students greater breadth of knowledge in these specific areas. This increased understanding of older adults will facilitate development of job related skills upon graduation.

How and when will the effectiveness of these changes be determined?
In our annual senior survey we can ask questions regarding Gerontology course work taken to determine satisfaction with increased options within the major.
