Program Title: BS in Business and BS in Economics

Describe the proposed degree program change(s) in terms of how the changes differ from the program as currently approved and published in the latest WOU catalog (specify the latest catalog date).
To improve and simplify the catalog wording for meeting the Quantitative literacy of BS degree requirements, remove the wording that lists specific courses to complete the mathematics, computer science, and quantitative literacy courses. This wording was originally intended as a list to help students meet the requirements, but is being enforced as a requirement. We request that the change be implemented upon approval, and be retroactive to include earlier catalog years.

2013-14 catalog, page 44: Students electing to complete the Bachelor of Science degree in business will meet the 12 credit graduation requirement in mathematics, computer science and quantitative literacy courses by completing the following courses: MTH 111 (or higher), CS 121 (or higher) and an additional 6 credits from BA 240, BA 340, BA 367, EC 315.
2013-14 catalog, page 51: Students electing to complete the Bachelor of Science degree in economics will meet the 12 credit graduation requirement in mathematics, computer science and quantitative literacy courses by completing the following courses: MTH 111 (or higher), CS 121 (or higher) and an additional 6 credits from BA 240, BA 340, BA 367, EC 315.
Proposed catalog description: Remove the above clause for both business and economics BS degree programs.
