Program Title: Social Science

Describe the proposed degree program change(s) in terms of how the changes differ from the program as currently approved and published in the latest WOU catalog (specify the latest catalog date).
The theory and methods courses can be taken from any of the six Social Science disciplines. The 2009-10 catalog states that these courses could be taken only from the discipline in which the student chose to specialize. Also, the list of theory and methods courses is now expanded.
Describe the reasons for making this change:
The Social Science faculty wanted to provide students more theory and methods options.

We will track Social Science majors to verify how many students opt to take a theory or methods course outside of their major discipline.
