New Minor:
P00623
Program Title: Visual Communication Design minor in the Art Department |
Catalog Description of Minor:
The art department proposes a new minor entitled Visual Communication Design. It is similar in format to the current Studio Art minor. Students will be required to take visual art foundations, 200 level prerequisites, and 15 credits of upper-division topic sequence in at least one subject area.
Justification for adding the minor
This minor is being proposed at the same time as a new Visual Communications Design major. This will provide students in other majors on campus the opportunity to gain experience in designing for communication purposes (web, print or motion).
The form of the minor in Visual Communication Design is similar to the current Studio Art Minor:
15 credits 100 level art foundation courses (5 specific courses)
200 level introductory courses required for the UD subject area sequences
15 credits upper division coursework in studio design and art courses
Standard advising for options for the Visual Communication Design minor are attached.
