Describe the proposed degree program change(s) in terms of how the changes differ from the program as currently approved and published in the latest WOU catalog (specify the latest catalog date).
Correct the list of electives (30) in column 2, page 70, to reflect the following:
MUS 427 is actually MUE 427; and the correct title is "Choral Methods."
MUS 428 is properly titled "Choral Literature."
Add the following to the list:
MUS 429 Literature for Instrumental Ensembles
MUS 430 Advanced Improvisation
Rationale:
The first two courses are not consistent with the course descriptions on page 152 of the 2011 catalog.
The missing courses are intended as electives available to satisfy this requirement. We have no explanation as to why they are not there now. Perhaps when these courses were approved, the petitioner failed to note that they should be added to the list.
