Program Title: Educational Media

Describe the proposed degree program change(s) in terms of how the changes differ from the program as currently approved and published in the latest WOU catalog (specify the latest catalog date).
This program has not been in the catalog since 1996. The proposed changes bring it up to date and the attached chart and summary of changes describe the changes, how they differ from the previous program, and the rationale for the changes.

Describe the reasons for making this change:
The proposed program revisions are designed to accomplish several goals: 1) to bring the program up-to-date with current school library practices, 2) to infuse technology into the courses, 3) to align the program with ALA standards and 4) to ensure that the program covers information needed to successfully pass the Praxis exam.

How and when will the effectiveness of these changes be determined?
Individual student course evaluations will be conducted each term. An exit survey and 2-year out surveys will be conducted. An advisory committee made up current practicing school librarians, WOU faculty, and program advisors will review the data and report suggested changes.
