Describe the reasons for making this change:
No proposed changes to the catalog description. The listing of upper division areas (pp. 64-65) is the only portion of the program that is effected. Courses listed as deleted or changed should be corrected here, as indicated in above tables.
For Dean Review only:
How and when will the effectiveness of these changes be determined?
The purpose of these changes is to bring catalog descriptions into alignment with current faculty expertise, and to facilitate advisement of students who might otherwise be misled into thinking that areas no longer staffed with qualified faculty would continue to be offered in this program. It also promotes the retention of newly hired faculty by encouraging their involvement in developing a coherent curriculum of course offerings focused on their unique qualifications and areas of specialization.
