Course Goal and Objectives: This is the second course of a three-term upper-division sequence. Continue learning and applying skills to visual communication through time based (video, animation) delivery methods. Specific term-by-term course goals and objectives will rely on expertise of incoming faculty. |

Justification for adding the course (e.g. alignment with other institutions, program revision, etc.): Necessary course for proposed expansion of visual communication design major to include animation and time-based media, as requested by WOU administration. |

Faculty and facilities needed: 2011-2012: hire NTT faculty with motion, narrative, video, animation specialization to teach these courses during the launch of the new program. |

Students will study methods of making digital motion/time based visuals. Topics may include: - use of video - digital cell animation - text and image in motion - stop-motion - and/or 3-dimensional modeling Students will work with ideas of development, audience, message, continuity, and narrative. Course will include software instruction connected to specific project goals. |
