Current Course Description: MUS 314 Orchestration I (3) Traditional and contemporary orchestration and Instrumentation techniques for brass and woodwind instruments. Emphasis on range, transposition, idiomatic solo writing, idiomatic ensemble writing, and standard practices for various ensembles and genres. Student projects will be performed and critiqued. Prerequisite: MUS 213 or consent of instructor MUS 315 Orchestration II (3) Traditional and contemporary orchestration and instrumentation techniques for string and percussion instruments.
