Justification for changing the course (e.g. alignment with other institutions, program revision, etc.): The anthropological research project is designed by the student in consultation with a faculty mentor. Research may involve travel abroad, participation in a program not aligned with the WOU academic calendar, or open-ended engagement with a community or site. The student is already required to maintain contact with his or her mentor. Authorizing the RP designation will demonstrate respect for the student's initiative and maturity in undertaking independent research. |
