Catalog Description: Students will explore the realities of adults as learners, the value of co-constructing the learning environment with students. Adult learning theories will be discussed and analyzed as well as various models for approaching adults as learners in the college classroom (whether live or on-line). |
Course Goal and Objectives: Upon completing this course, students will be able to: Develop a philosophy of teaching statement outlining their own development as an adult learning/educator. Discuss the merits of various adult-learning theories. Utilize adult learning theories in the practicum experience overtly outlining and justifying the ways in which they are employing those theories. |
