Catalog Description: Students acquire knowledge and theory in assessment construction, methodology, and the use of data in formative and summative assessment design. Students research methods used for curricular and program assessment and evaluation. They examine, develop, and/or administer assessments, and interpret assessment results. Students explore and apply theories and approaches of assessment in teaching interpreting, to include the following: authentic assessment, diagnostics, feedback, and self-assessment. |
Course Goal and Objectives: Upon completing this course, students will be able to: ¿ Design authentic assessments for translation and interpreting projects. ¿ Demonstrate constructive feedback techniques. ¿ Demonstrate abilities in diagnostic feedback given a sample of student work. ¿ Lead students to rely on self-assessment data for professional development. |
