Justification for changing the course (e.g. alignment with other institutions, program revision, etc.): One part of this class is to expose students to important past and current empirical economic research on intercollegiate sports. Most empirical research incorporates statistical analysis (e.g., multivariate regression), the kind of empirical techniques taught in EC 315 (and in other disciplines as well). If students complete EC 315 (or an equivalent) prior to enrolling in EC 333 they will be better able to understand economic research on intercollegiate sports as well as discover new areas in which to apply the ideas they learned in EC 315. |
Students/Program affected: Economics majors and minors and Sport Management minors. Economics majors and Sport Management minors are required to take EC 315 for their program. |
