Current Course Description:
Organizational Development (OD) which include interventions aimed at fostering high performing organizations. Students will become familiar with various techniques for enhancing organizational and individual effectiveness, develop insights into organizational functioning, and develop skills for effective managing/consulting. Prerequisites: PSY 201 and 202 or equivalent. PSY 334 recommended.

New Course Description:
Explores the art and science of Organizational Development (OD) which is a conscious, planned process of developing an organization¿s capabilities so that it can attain and sustain an optimum level of performance as measured by efficiency, effectiveness, and health. Course activities include working on in-class group projects with other students in the form of analyzing case studies, participating in active learning scenarios to develop process consultation skills, and completing a comprehensive take-home final exam. Students will become familiar with various techniques used to bring about successful change efforts in individual employees, groups and teams, inter-groups, and organizations. Students will also develop insights into organizational functioning, and develop skills for effective managing/consulting. Prerequisites: PSY 201 and 202 or equivalent. PSY 334 and/or PSY 445 recommended.

To provide a more accurate course description and clarification for students.
Students/Program affected:
Primarily Psychology Majors and to a lesser degree Psychology Minors.
