New Course Description: Enables the preservice teacher to apoly theories of human development and learning to a variety of classroom settings. Major theories of language and reading will be examined as they apply to emergent and developing readers in preschool through elementary grades. Introduction to the relationships between assessment and instructional decision-making. This course is always offered as Writing Intensive. |
Justification for changing the course (e.g. alignment with other institutions, program revision, etc.): This class is currently offered as ED 442W. In the transition to our revised pre-education major this class moved to ED 342 and the W designation was lost. Fortunately, it has given us a good opportunity to review the class, its core outcomes, and the essential assignments weżll use to move students toward these outcomes. So the only change in catalog description is the addition of the last sentence stipulating that it is always a W class. NOTE: A full W proposal is under review with the W committee and is also attached here. |
Students/Program affected: All pre-education students pursuing licensure at the early childhood only and early childhood/elementary authorization levels. |
