Current Course Description:

Students seeking licensure at the elementary/middle level can take this class or ED 342.

New Course Description:
Students seeking initial teacher licensure at the middle/high and high school only levels will learn to apply theories of adolescent learning and development to schools and classrooms through student teaching activities. Students seeking licensure at the elementary/middle level can take this class or ED 342. This class will always be offered as a Writing Intensive class.

Justification for changing the course (e.g. alignment with other institutions, program revision, etc.):
This class is currently offered as ED 433W. In the transition to our revised pre-education major this class moved to ED 333 and the W designation was lost. Fortunately, it has given us a good opportunity to review the class, its core outcomes, and the essential assignments weżll use to more students toward these outcomes. The only description change is the addition of the last sentence indicating that this class will always be W. NOTE: A full WI proposal is under review with the W committee.
Students/Program affected:
All pre-education students pursuing licensure at middle/high and high school only authorization levels and some elementary/middle students.
