ADV IMPROVISATION

Current Course Description:
Transcription, analysis and performance of Instrumental and/or vocal Improvisation in contemporary, historical and ethnographic musical styles. Prerequisite: Ability to improvise convincingly in a complex tonal harmonic context

New Course Description:
Application of a broad spectrum of theoretical constructs to improvisation in a variety of musical contexts. Prerequisite: MUS 331, 332, 333.

Justification for changing the course (e.g. alignment with other institutions, program revision, etc.):
Prerequisite is tied to course credit. Description is more accurate.
