Current Course Description:
Women's contributions to the art of dance from the Renaissance to the present. Performers, choreographers and directors will be emphasized.

New Course Description:
In this course we will analyze dance and choreography through the lens of gender and it's effects on the development of dance as an artform.

Justification for changing the course (e.g. alignment with other institutions, program revision, etc.):
The course originally focused on women and their choreographic and performing careers in dance. As the course has developed, it has included the contributions of heterosexual and homosexual dancers of both genders. This change reflects the inclusiveness of the material being presented.
