Current Course Description: Further development and mastery of advanced barre, adagio, petite and grande allegro technique. Emphasis will be placed on an advanced pre-professional level of technical and performance skills. Prerequisite: Intermediate Ballet sequence or consent of instructor.

New Course Description: Further development and mastery of advanced barre, adagio, petite and grande allegro technique. Emphasis will be placed on an advanced pre-professional level of technical and performance skills. Prerequisite: Placement by audition or consent of instructor. May be repeated for credit.

Justification for changing the course (e.g. alignment with other institutions, program revision, etc.): The dance program is streamlining the naming and numbering system of the dance technique courses. We are removing the designations of beginning, intermediate and advanced levels to align with other university dance program practices. The multi-numbered course sections were originally created in order to allow students to repeat courses for credit. This is no longer necessary as courses may be repeated for credit as designated in the course catalog.

Students/Program affected: These changes do not impact program offerings or requirements. It is a simplification of titles and numbers of courses.
