Abbreviation for Class Schedule(20 spaces)

Current Course Description:
Enables the preservice teacher to apply theories of human development from birth to adulthood and theories of learning to a variety of classroom settings.

New Course Description:
Students seeking initial teacher licensure at the middle/high, and high school only levels will learn to apply theories of adolescent learning and development to schools and classrooms through student teaching activities. Students seeking licensure at the elementary/middle level can take this class or ED 342 Applied Children¿s Learning and Development.

Justification for changing the course (e.g. alignment with other institutions, program revision, etc.):
The current course description and title are not appropriate for students pursuing teacher licensure at the secondary level. This modification signals which course should be taken for those seeking licensure at the middle and high school level and our proposed revision for ED 342 will signal which class is appropriate for those seeking licensure at the elementary level.
Students/Program affected:
All students enrolled in the undergraduate/post-bacc. program who have been admitted to the Education Core.
