Current Course Description:
An intensive writing course that focuses on legal research and writing. Students will learn to conduct legal research, write legal briefs, reports and memoranda utilizing the rules of citation, grammar and style.

New Course Description:
An intensive writing course focusing on professional writing in all branches of the criminal justice system. Students will learn to write various types of police, court, and correctional reports and memoranda utilizing the requisite rules of citation, grammar and style.

Justification for changing the course (e.g. alignment with other institutions, program revision, etc.):
The new title and catalog description more accurately reflects the content of the course.
Students/Program affected:
Primarily Criminal justice majors and homeland security minors, although the course is writing intensive and therefore may appeal to other upper-division students majoring in a social science.
