Current Course Description:
A study of current releases and award winners. Current issues and trends will also be examined. The use of new materials in language-based curriculums will be explored.

New Course Description:
A study of current releases and award winners from children¿s to young adult literature. Current issues and trends in juvenile literature will be examined. The use of new materials and possibilities for integration in all content areas will be explored.

Justification for changing the course (e.g. alignment with other institutions, program revision, etc.):
This course description and title change more clearly identifies the focus of this class as a survey of current literature for young people--from children's literature through young adult literature.
