Current Course Description:
A critical analysis of the period of the "Twelve Caesars" and the differing approaches and concept of history as seen in ancient biography and historical writing. Readings will touch upon Tacitus, Suetonius, Dio Cassius, and Plutarch.

New Course Description:
This course examines the history and historiography of Jewish North Africa with an emphasis on the modern era. The class analyzes the political, cultural, economic, and social relationships between North Africa¿s Muslim majority and Jewish minority, and highlights the complexity of this ever-changing relationship.
