Current Course Description:
Study of the cultural and political evolution of the Roman world from its inception to the break-up of the empire in the 5th century A.D.

New Course Description:
This course examines the relationship between gender and colonialism in the modern era. We will analyze the ways in which gendered ideologies shaped colonial interactions and the influence of colonialism on the development of gender norms in colonized and colonizing societies.
