Catalog Description:
Explores a variety of ways for delivering web based instruction using available freeware software and commonly used Microsoft Office products. Students will create and design tutorials using text, audio, images, screen captures, screen casting, animation, wikis, and course authoring products.
Course Goal and Objectives:
¿ Explore a variety of freeware products used in web based tutorial creation ¿ Explore how commonly used Office products can be used to create web based tutorials. ¿ Learn how to effectively use text, sound, and audio in a variety of tutorial mediums. ¿ Move from simple to complex tutorial designs ¿ Learn how to evaluate and critique tutorials for improvement
Justification for adding the course (e.g. alignment with other institutions, program revision, etc.):
This course will meet elective requirements for the MSED Information Technology program as well as the MAT technology component. The class is aligned with ISTE National Educational Technology Standards and the Framework for 21st Century Learning, which form the framework for the MSEd Information Technology program and underlie the technology requirement for teacher licensure.
