Catalog Description:
This one-credit course will provide students with hands-on experience writing, shooting, editing, and publishing short videos using simple video-editing tools. Students will learn how to work with video in a classroom setting, and will explore a variety of inexpensive and free online tools.
Course Goal and Objectives:
¿ Know how to locate and use digital stories online ¿ Develop skills for using a variety of online digital storytelling tools ¿ Understand the basic digital video production process ¿ Write, produce, and publish digital stories ¿ Identify ways to use digital storytelling in teaching and learning
Justification for adding the course (e.g. alignment with other institutions, program revision, etc.):
This course will meet elective requirements for the MSED Information Technology program as well as the MAT technology component. The class is aligned with ISTE National Educational Technology Standards and the Framework for 21st Century Learning, which form the framework for the MSEd Information Technology program and underlie the technology requirement for teacher licensure.
