Justification for changing the course (e.g. alignment with other institutions, program revision, etc.): The current prerequisite of MTH 111 creates some issues with transfer students. Many students place above Math 111 at a different institution and take a more advanced class (Math 112 (prereq 111) or Math 251 (prereq 112) ). When they transfer to WOU, the lack of Math 111 on their transcript causes Math 243 registration problems--they must get signed in and some students think they must take Math 111 (a course that they have already mastered the content of).
