Catalog Description:
Advanced research, concept de¬velopment and art/design production in visual communication design disciplines. Course requirements are contracted with the B.F.A. thesis advisor. May be repeated three times to fulfill BFA requirements. Prerequi¬sites: A 429 and acceptance to the B.F.A. program
Course Goal and Objectives:
Advanced research, concept development and art/design production in visual communication design. Course goals and objectives are contracted with the B.F.A. thesis advisor.
Justification for adding the course (e.g. alignment with other institutions, program revision, etc.):
This new course number and title is to designate concentration area of BFA study. This will help track student¿s enrollment in concentration areas. It will also allow the art department to schedule an official meeting time that aligns with pertinent upper division VCD courses. This will provide a designated meeting time with the student¿s B.F.A. thesis advisor, and also allow the faculty member to track how many students are utilizing the studio classroom/computer classroom. The Art Department is also aligning course numbers by subject area. We are creating course numbers for each concentration area in the B.F.A. A445 will be the course number for Visual Communication Design, A455 for Ceramics, A475 for Printmaking, A485 for Painting and A495 for Sculpture.
