Current Course Description: Third term of advanced research, concept development and art production in the student¿s concentration area: painting, sculpture, ceramics, printmaking or graphic design. Course requirements are contracted with the B.F.A. thesis advisor. Third-term requirements will include a portfolio of work and an exhibition of the thesis project work in format appropriate to subject matter.

New Course Description: Advanced research, concept development and art production in printmaking. Course requirements are contracted with the B.F.A. thesis advisor. May be repeated three times to fulfill BFA requirements. Prerequisites: A315, A419 and acceptance to the B.F.A. program

Justification for changing the course (e.g. alignment with other institutions, program revision, etc.): The change in title is to designate concentration area of BFA study. This will help track student¿s enrollment in concentration areas. It will also allow the art department to schedule a meeting time that aligns with other printmaking courses. This will provide a designated meeting time with the student¿s B.F.A. thesis advisor, and also allow the faculty member to track how many students are using their studio classroom. The Art Department is also aligning course numbers by subject area. We are creating course numbers for each concentration area in the B.F.A. A445 will be used for Visual Communication Design, A455 for Ceramics, A475 for Printmaking, A485 for Painting and A495 for Sculpture.
