Justification for dropping the course: Currently, there are three courses associated with Practicum/ Service Learning Experience. A412: Practicum, A485 Art Service Learning, and A486 Art Service Learning. The Art Department can serve student¿s needs by only offering one course, with a wider credit range, and the option to repeat the course for credit. The course number of existing A412 seemed most useful for this course, so the description for A412 is being expanded to fit the needs of students who would previously registered for A485 or A486. A486 is no longer necessary. This change is part of a larger ¿clean up¿ our numbering system. Courses in the A X80¿s are dedicated to painting courses, and courses in the teens are more appropriate for foundation, practicum, gallery and capstone courses. The A485 course number is needed for a different course: BFA Thesis in Painting. |
