Catalog Description:
Students learn to use HyperText Markup Language (HTML) and Java Script HTML is the main markup language for web pages. HTML elements are the basic building-blocks of webpages. HTML is a language for structuring and presenting content for the World Wide Web, and is a core technology of the Internet. Java Script is primarily used in the form of client-side language implemented as part of a Web browser in order to provide enhanced user interfaces and dynamic websites.
Course Goal and Objectives:
Students are able to write simple web pages using HTML. Students are able to use advanced features of HTML such as links and tables. Students are able to create simple dynamic web pages using Java Script.
Justification for adding the course (e.g. alignment with other institutions, program revision, etc.):
Part of our restructuring of the Information Systems program Allowing the introductory courses to align with courses student take to satisfy the Bachelors of Science requirement.

No additional facilities or faculty required.
Brief Course outline:
Week 1 Fundamentals of Site Design creating a flow chart 2 Introduction to HTML Tags & HTML Syntax 3 Applying Text Attributes 4 Creating Lists Numerical, Alpha, and square boxes 5 Creating Hyperlinks three types, absolute, relative and bookmark. 6 Embedding Graphics and Alternate commands 7 Creating Simple Tables borders, shading. 8 Creating Complex Tables colours, images, hyperlinks 9 Using Tables as a Layout Tool framework for a page 10 Using Java Script
