Current Course Description:

Composers represented might include Pixin- guinha, Tom Jobim, Jacob do Bandolim and Gilberto Gil. Freshmen and sophomore regis- ter for MUEN 174, juniors and seniors register for MUEN 374; graduate students register for MUEN 570. May be repeated for credit.

New Course Description:
Ensemble dedicated to the performance of Brazilian music. Concerts may focus on a particular artist, such as Pixinguinha, Cartola, Jobim, or Ivan Lins; a single musical genre, such as choro, samba, bossa nova, or MPB; or a historical period. Freshmen and sophomore regis- ter for MUEN 174, juniors and seniors register for MUEN 374; graduate students register for MUEN 570. May be repeated for credit.

Justification for changing the course (e.g. alignment with other institutions, program revision, etc.):
The group has grown too large to be properly considered a "combo." The new name more properly reflects its identity. The course description is better.
