Study of the compositional styles and histori- cal context of the Tin Pan Alley songwriters, including Cole Porter, Rodgers & Hart, George Gershwin, Jerome Kern, and Johnny Mercer. Style investigation will include analysis of melody, harmony, form and lyrics.
