Current Course Description: Apply design theory and process to web communications and hypermedia art. Design visual layouts, information architecture, interfaces, artwork, and narratives for the internet. Prerequisite: A 220, A 222, A 320

New Course Description: This project-based course examines cultural and aesthetic aspects of the World Wide Web. Students respond to course information by designing websites and hypermedia art. Focuses on visual layout, information architecture, interface design, and graphic artwork for the Internet. Includes software instruction and experience with technology connected to course goals. Prerequisite: A 220, A 222, A 320 (A 320 may be taken concurrently with A 323)

Justification for changing the course (e.g. alignment with other institutions, program revision, etc.): This change provides a more accurate and specific course description to students using the WOU course catalog. It also slightly alters the course title to reflect common verbiage and provide clarity.

Students/Program affected: Visual Communication Design majors & minors and Art majors are primarily affected.
