Catalog Description:
This course introduces students to Microsoft Office Professional (Access, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint) as an investigative tool in criminal justice applications. Students will learn to manage and analysis crime data using Microsoft Access, analyze data and perform complex calculations using Microsoft Excel, create crime bulletins and reports using Microsoft Word, and prepare effective presentations using Microsoft PowerPoint.
Course Goal and Objectives:
Students will learn to manage and analysis crime data using Microsoft Access, analyze data and perform complex calculations using Microsoft Excel, create crime bulletins and reports using Microsoft Word, and prepare effective presentations using Microsoft PowerPoint.
Justification for adding the course (e.g. alignment with other institutions, program revision, etc.):
This course complements and expands the crime analysis curriculum by introducing students to the most popular software currently used to analyze and manage crime date.
