New Course Description: This course is intended to increase students¿ understanding of issues and dynamics when providing rehabilitation counseling across social, cultural, and community lines. Students will explore the nature of society and culture and how these impact the rehabilitation counseling process. Emphasis is placed on students examining their own cultural identity, attitudes, and biases. Attention will be given to developing understanding of gender, class, race, ethnicity, disability, family structure, roles and values, and various lifestyles. Prerequisite: consent of program coordinator |
