Current Course Description:
2012-2013 Catalog, p. 164 Course will assist the rehabilitation counseling student in developing the required skills in the area of research that are needed for effective practice and contributions to the functioning of a rehabilitation agency.

New Course Description:
Course will assist the rehabilitation counseling student in developing the required skills in the area of research that are needed for evidence-based practice. Students are expected to gain knowledge and skills in the following areas: literature review; research critique; basic statistics; research methods; and ethical, legal, and cultural issues related to research and evaluation. Prerequisites: Admission to the RCE program or consent of instructor

Justification for changing the course (e.g. alignment with other institutions, program revision, etc.):
The Rehabilitation Counselor Education program is requesting this description change so that it more accurately reflects the content of the course.
