Current Course Description:
2012-2013 Catalog, p. 164 Students perform two full-terms (9 credits per term) of on-site placement with a state or community rehabilitation counseling agency or social service agency charged with meeting the specific rehabilitation needs of clients. Total internship will consist of a minimum of 18 credit hours which includes 600 hours of counselor-in-training experience. Prerequisites: successful completion of RC 609, RC 611, RC 613, RC 620, RC 621, RC 630, RC 631, RC 633, RC 650, RC 660, and one of the following research courses: RC 625, ED 612, SPED 616, or TPD 640. Student cannot begin RC 610 Internship with an Incomplete grade (I) in any RC class unless they have petitioned the faculty of the Rehabilitation Counselor Education program for a waiver.

New Course Description:
Students perform two full-terms (9 credits per term) of on-site placement with a state or community rehabilitation counseling agency or social service agency charged with meeting the specific rehabilitation needs of clients. Total internship will consist of a minimum of 18 credit hours which includes 600 hours of counselor-in-training experience and 240 hours of direct client contact. CRC supervision is a required portion of internship experience. Prerequisites: successful completion of a minimum of 9 credits of RC 609. Student cannot begin RC 610 Internship with an Incomplete grade (I) in any RC class unless they have petitioned the program coordinator of the Rehabilitation Counselor Education program for a waiver.

Justification for changing the course (e.g. alignment with other institutions, program revision, etc.):
The Rehabilitation Counselor Education program courses is requesting this description change so that the course description in the WOU catalog more accurately reflects the description as shown in the course syllabus.
