Abbreviation for Class Schedule(20 spaces) Research and Comp |
Catalog Description: Combines instruction in research skills with the production of essays utilizing research, including traditional library research, internet research, documentation styles, and forms of researched writing. Prerequisite: WR 135 or equivalent. |
Course Goal and Objectives: Combines instruction in research skills with the production of essays utilizing research, including traditional library research, internet research, documentation styles, and forms of researched writing; designed for students who are not pre-nursing majors. |
Justification for adding the course (e.g. alignment with other institutions, program revision, etc.): WR 222 was renamed "Research and Composition in the Sciences" for pre-nursing students. This course number/description, however, fails to account for transfer students who complete WR 123 or WR 222 at other institutions. WR 223 will serve as a substitute for WR 123 or WR 222. Students at Oregon community colleges and some universities take a three-course composition sequence of WR 121, WR 122, WR 123. WR 122 typically transfers as a WR 135 equivalent. WR 123 transfers as WR 222. |
Faculty and facilities needed: No Changes from Current Status |
Brief Course outline: Combines instruction in research skills with the production of essays utilizing research, including traditional library research, internet research, documentation styles, and forms of researched writing; designed for students who are not pre-nursing majors. |
