New Course Description: This practicum is designed to allow students who have satisfactorily completed the coursework in SPED 488/588 ASD : Supporting Students with High Functioning Autism and Asperger Disorder, to demonstrate competency in the application of instructional strategies learned in class. Students will be expected to implement the strategies learned from the course with a student with high functioning autism and/or Asperger Disorder. Students will complete a minimum of 30 total hours in an educational setting with students. Students will be expected to work with an individual student or with a small group of students and implement social skills instruction and curriculum. Eligible for the RP grade option. Prerequisite: SPED 488/588 and permission of instructor |
