Justification for changing the course (e.g. alignment with other institutions, program revision, etc.): Sociology Dept. has approved dropping prerequisites for Soc.310. This would include dropping/eliminating the listed prerequisites: Soc. 223, Soc. 224 and Soc. 225. We are asking for approval by the Faculty Senate Curriculum Committee. Approval by the Social Science Division Curriculum Committee will be forthcoming shortly. The Sociology Dept. decided that completion of Soc. 310 does not need the above prerequisites and in fact, they have become a hindrance for many students with viable service project proposals.
