TA 357 | Production Performance | 1 - 4 |
Abbreviation for Class Schedule(20 spaces) Prod Performance |
Catalog Description: Performance in main stage or studio theatre productions. May be repeated for credit. Eligible for the RP grade option. Prerequisite: consent of instructor |
Course Goal and Objectives: Students will develop practical performance skills through rehearsing and performing departmental productions. Students will get detailed feedback from faculty directors and coaches through out the production process. |
Justification for adding the course (e.g. alignment with other institutions, program revision, etc.): The faculty wish to do away with the generic upper division production course TA 353. Replacing TA 353 with specific upper division production credits, the existing TA 354 Production Design and TA 355 Production Management and the proposed TA 357 Production Performance, TA 358 Production Direction and TA 359 Production Fabrication, will encourage students to recognize and focus on specific production areas. |
Faculty and facilities needed: Existing production framework. |
Brief Course outline: Students will be cast in production roles by faculty directors based on open auditions. Once cast, students participate in six to eight weeks of rehearsals and then perform five to eight performances. Students receive constant feedback throughout the rehearsal and performance process. Credit will be based on the size of the role and the commitment level required. |
