Catalog Description: Students teach in a pre-service or in-service interpreter education setting that fits the students¿ interests and skill sets. During this experience, students will develop a teaching or instructional work sample and complete a portfolio. Prerequisites: Successful completion of all MAIS course work |
Course Goal and Objectives: Students will: 1. develop a professional portfolio. 2. defend portfolio asynchronously. 3. participate in professional practice. 4. reflect upon professional practice through systematic and intentional inquiry. |
Justification for adding the course (e.g. alignment with other institutions, program revision, etc.): This is basically an issue of cleaning up the catalog. INT 639 is a part of the requirements for the MA in Interpreting Studies program. Due to some technical issues, it was not approved via the portal along with the other courses during the initial approval process. When the MAIS program changes were submitted during the 2012-2013 academic year, this course was approved in the context of the MAIS program of study and appears in the catalog program description, but the proposal for this course was not submitted. Thus, we are submitting the proposal now. |
