Current Course Description:
A study of the science of human behavior and experience. Areas covered may include consciousness, personality, health psychology, abnormal behavior, psychotherapy and social psychology.

New Course Description:
A study of the science of human behavior and experience. Areas covered may include consciousness, personality, health psychology, motivation, intelligence, abnormal behavior, psychotherapy and social psychology.

Justification for changing the course (e.g. alignment with other institutions, program revision, etc.):
This change reflects current course coverage. Currently Psy 202 General Psychology includes discussion of motivation and intelligence. Updates to the description will more clearly indicate course coverage for students interested in enrollment.
Students/Program affected:
Any student who takes Psy 202 General Psychology will be affected by the change, however, please note that this change only formalizes in the catalog what has currently be practice in teaching the course for several years. Students who enroll in Psy 202 General Psychology include psychology majors, psychology minors, gerontology majors, and any student choosing to take Psy 202 General Psychology to as an LACC social science credit.
