Current Course Description: A survey of psychological topics relevant to educational settings. These topics may include child and adolescent development, learning, memory, cognitive processes, motivation, assessment and behavioral management. This course is not intended for psychology majors.

New Course Description: A survey of psychological topics relevant to educational settings. These topics may include child and adolescent development, learning, memory, cognitive processes, motivation, assessment and behavioral management. This course is designed for Education majors. Psychology majors should not take this course.

Justification for changing the course (e.g. alignment with other institutions, program revision, etc.): The course description content is not changed, however the description change is meant to more clearly articulate that this course is designed for students in the Education program. The course is not designed for psychology majors.

Students/Program affected: Students who enroll in Psy 218 Psychological foundations of education include students enrolled in education majors. Psychology majors may be indirectly affected, as this description change will clarify that they should not enroll in this course.
