Current Course Description: An exploration of psychological research including topics of design, methodology, statistical analysis and report writing.

New Course Description: An exploration of psychological research including topics of design, methodology, statistical analysis and report writing. Course activities include a significant student research project, and may include meetings with the instructor outside of regularly scheduled class meeting times.

Justification for changing the course (e.g. alignment with other institutions, program revision, etc.): This updated course description more accurately reflects the student experience and current course content. Understanding that the course includes a research project and meetings with the instructor will provide the student with additional information to facilitate scheduling for a successful experience.

Students/Program affected: Psychology and Gerontology majors are the only individuals required to take Psy 301W Introduction to Research Methods. Students pursuing other majors may choose to take Psy 301 Introduction to Research Methods to meet a writing intensive requirement.
