Current Course Description: This class provides an overview of basic topics in cognitive psychology including learning, memory, attention, sensation, perception, language/phonology and problem solving. Pre-requisites: PSY 201 and PSY 202 or equivalent

New Course Description: This class provides an overview of basic topics in cognitive psychology including learning, memory, attention, sensation, perception, language/phonology and problem solving. Pre-requisites: PSY 201 or equivalent

Justification for changing the course (e.g. alignment with other institutions, program revision, etc.): We have dropped one prerequisite course, Psy 202 General psychology, because completion of this course is not necessary to be successful in Psy 360 Cognitive psychology. Removal of this extra prerequisite will allow for more flexibility in student scheduling.

Students/Program affected: Currently only psychology majors are required to take Psy 360 Cognitive psychology. Psychology minors and other students taking psychology courses can choose to take Psy 360 Cognitive psychology.
