Current Course Description:
Psy 435/535 Theories of Personality 4 hours Major historical and contemporary theories of personality development and function and their relation to current issues in psychology. Prerequisite: a 300-level course in psychology.

New Course Description:
Psy 435/535 Theories of Personality 4 hours Exploration of major historical and contemporary theories of personality development and functioning and their relation to current issues in psychology. Research resulting from the theories, as well as personal application of the theories, will be emphasized. Prerequisite: Psy 201 and 202 or equivalent.

Justification for changing the course (e.g. alignment with other institutions, program revision, etc.):
Alignment of prerequisites with other 400 level psychology courses. Increased information included in the course description. The changes will not impact the course content of the 500 level course.
Students/Program affected:
No student or program impact except increased clarity. More students can enroll in the course without the 300 level course prerequisite.
